Excellent hotel.

Pro: Beautiful room with extra comfy bed, well equipped bathroom and loads of extras. The restaurant was very light and airy with a wonderful breakfast and the Artemesia bar was warm and cosy. Brilliant gym. Most of all, friendly helpful staff.

One of the few remaining truly 5 star hotels. Recommended for your stay in Florence.

Pro: We stayed for three nights. From the moment we arrived we felt immediately welcome. Throughout the stay the staff recognised us and called us by name. On one occasion driving back to the hotel in our car the road we normally went down was blocked and Eugene the doorman guided us in by phone for nearly ten minutes, driving in the centre of Florence is a bit tricky. The room was beautifully appointed and the housekeeping was excellent. Biscuits and copious amounts of water left in room. Shower and bathroom best so far in our trip across Italy. Breakfast was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and staff very attentive, never waited for a moment. We would usually have a drink in the evening before setting out for a meal and again great service, drinks served with olives and nuts etc. A proper 5 star hotel slap bang in the middle of Florence.

Contro: no tea making facilities in the room. Unless we didn't find them...
